Mid-Valley Quilt Guild Annual Awards Program


Purpose: To establish an awards program that will enable the Executive Board of the Mid- Valley Quilt Guild to recognize individual members of the Guild for sustained service as well as special achievement. Categories Lifetime Achievement Award: for outstanding and sustained contributions to the Guild and its objectives:

• Only one individual will be given this award annually
• Voted on by Presidents and Vice Presidents only
• Recipient will be given a Lifetime Membership in the Guild.
Volunteer of the Year: for individuals who have consistently volunteered to assist in Guild projects and programs throughout the Guild’s fiscal year.

• Requires a majority vote of the Executive Board
• May be awarded to more than one individual annually
Outstanding Service: for individuals who have made major contributions to the Guild. May be awarded to individuals who have served as Program Chairs or Chairs of Special Projects or individuals who have given outstanding service in a manner deemed worthy of recognition

• Requires a majority vote of the Executive Board
• May be awarded to more than one individual annually
Special Achievement: Awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding one-time contribution to the Guild.

• Requires a majority vote of the Executive Board
• May be awarded to more than one individual annually
Procedures

Nominations
• May be made by any member of the Guild in good standing.
• Must be made in writing and contain specific information t o support the nomination
• May be made at any time during the year but will not be considered by the Executive Board until their June Board meeting
• Members may nominate more than one individual and may nominate in any category
Awards
• Announcement and presentation of awards will be made at the July Guild meetings
• Awards will be in the form of certificates that will be funded by the Guild.
